Dimitri Kullmann obtained his BA and DPhil degrees from Oxford University, and studied medicine in Oxford and London. After postdoctoral work in San Francisco, he qualified as a neurologist at the National Hospital Queen Square where he continues to see patients. His laboratory studies fundamental aspects of synaptic transmission and plasticity in the mammalian brain, seizure mechanisms and neurological channelopathies. He is also attempting to bring gene therapies for drug-resistant focal epilepsy to the clinic. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and of the Academy of Medical Sciences and was the Editor of Brain between 2014 and 2020.
