Dr. Kathrin Plath runs a highly interdisciplinary research program and has made significant contributions to the fields of stem cell biology, gene regulation, epigenetics, and regenerative medicine. She has been at the forefront of studying mechanistically how X-inactivation happens and how somatic cells can be reprogrammed to induced pluripotent stem cells. She serves on the editorial board of Cell, Science, etc and is a HHMI Faculty Scholar.
