Hongmei Wang is a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Reproductive Biology (SRLab), Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and she also serves as the director of SRLab.
Hongmei leads a committed research team focused on exploring early embryonic and extra-embryonic development using a variety of models, including human, non-human primate and mouse embryos and extraembryonic tissues, as well as stem cell-based embryo models and organoids. Their aim is to unravel the connections between erros during embryonic and placental development and the onset of gestational related diseases.
With over 80 papers published in academic journals, such as Nature, Science, and Cell,Hongmei has received numerous esteemed honors such as the Tan Jia Zhen Life Sciences Innovation Award.
