Ana Hidalgo-Simon is an experienced scientist and regulator, currently working at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) with the reNEW project. Her current mission is to increase the translation of academic research on Advanced Therapies into clinical practice in a sustainable and fair manner.
She has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country, Spain, and a PhD from the University of London, UK. For the past 20 years she has worked in the European Medicines Agency (EMA), holding many key scientific and managerial positions, including establishing and leading the office for Advanced Therapies.
