I am a pediatrician and clinician-scientist interested in inborn errors of immunity (IEI), gene therapy and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Passionate about bridging the gap between fundamental lab research and clinical applications. During my PhD with Prof. Notarangelo I worked on gene editing with CRISPR/Cas9 and I generated mouse models of hypomorphic RAG deficiency to better understand the immunological, clinical and molecular phenotype. Now I’m working on gene therapy as treatment for this disease in the group of Prof. Frank Staal. In addition, I’m doing my clinical immunology/infectious diseases subspecialty training at the pediatric stem cell transplantation program of the LUMC led by Prof. Arjan Lankester.
