Dr. Rui Yue is a tenured Professor, Department Chair of Molecular and Cell Biology, and Vice Dean of the School of Life Sciences and Technology at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. He graduated from Zhejiang University with a B.S. degree in Bioengineering (2005), then pursued his PhD degree in cell biology at Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, CAS, with Dr. Gang Pei. After completing PhD (2011), he conducted postdoctoral research as a Damon Runyon Fellow with Dr. Sean Morrison at UT Southwestern Medical Center, USA (2011-2016). The Yue laboratory is interested in dissecting the mechanisms by which skeletal stem cells are regulated in the bone marrow and the extramedullary regions to fine-tune hematopoiesis and skeletogenesis, as well as their clinical applications in regenerative medicine.
