Dr. Moyra Lawrence
Affiiation: Centre for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA) and Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Biology (ASHBi), Kyoto University, Japan. Moyra Lawrence graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine. She received a PhD in Stem Cell Biology from the University of Cambridge. She then carried out a postdoc in epigenetics in the IGBMC, Strasbourg and Helmholtz Zentrum, Munich, before moving to the NHS Blood and Transplant and Cambridge Stem Cell Institute to work on iPSC-derived megakaryocytes. She joined CiRA and ASHBi in Kyoto University in 2021 and is now working on totipotency using single-cell RNA sequencing approaches. Her main research interest is cell state change, particularly from the pluripotent to the totipotent state.
