Yanbo is a final year PhD student in the lab of Professor Ben Simons at the Gurdon Institute at the University of Cambridge. His prior background was in experimental physics and his main scientific interests are in applying statistical and quantitative methods to understand self-organisation in biological systems. As part of his PhD work, Yanbo applied a combination of quantitative in-vivo lineage tracing data, ex-vivo culture systems and single cell RNAseq to investigate the developmental patterning of the mouse large intestine.
