Dr. Cohen has extensive experience in stem cell and genomic engineering and their applications for the Biomedical Ag and FoodTech fields.
He serves as VP of R&D at Wanda Fish. Wanda Fish is a FoodTech startup that uses stem cells, cellular agriculture technologies, and food technology to develop cell-based (cultivated) whole cut Bluefin Tuna filets.
Before, Malkiel led another startup, focusing on stem cells and gene-editing technologies to promote livestock welfare and health.
Malkiel did his postdoctoral fellowship in Prof. Rudolf Jaenisch's lab at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, MIT, where he developed novel platforms to study human development and diseases using pluripotent stem cells.
