Nirai Govindasamy is a scientific expert in the cultivated meat industry. Before joining Bluu Seafood, she worked at Mosa Meat, one of the leading cultivated meat company in Europe - where she focused her research on upscaling bovine pre-adipocytes and muscle stem cells. At Bluu, she leads projects on developing efficient, serum free medium for cultivating fish cells. Nirai recieved her PhD, from the Max Planck Institute where she conducted her doctoral research at the lab of Dr. Ivan Bedzhov in the field of stem cells, early embryo development and implantaion. After her PhD, due to her concerns for our environment and animal welfare she decided to apply her vast scientic knowledge to create an impact by advancing the research in cultivated meat industry.
