Dr. Stepan Jerabek is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University in the City of New York, with an affiliation to the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. His current scientific work aims to identify factors that mitigate replication stress in early human development. He also uses genome editing tools to study DNA repair in the preimplantation human embryo. Stepan graduated from the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague. His doctoral training in Germany was supported by a grant from the Max Planck Society. He is a former Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School.
