Dr. Dylan Mostert is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. In the Soft Tissue Engineering and Mechanobiology group under supervision of prof. dr. Carlijn Bouten, she obtained her PhD studying the mechanisms behind structural organization of the human myocardium using various human in vitro models. Her research interests encompass cardiac (stem) cell mechanobiology, tissue engineering, cell-ECM interactions, and gets inspired by developmental biology. During her master's and PhD she visited the lab of prof. dr. Abhay Pandit (NUIG, Ireland) and of prof. dr. Jonathan Butcher (Cornell, USA) to obtain expertise on the usage of biomaterials and developmental biology to further pursue her academic interests.
