University of Pittsburgh, USA
Dr. Mo Ebrahimkhani serves as an Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh where he leads the Laboratory for Synthetic Morphogenetics and Tissue Ecology. He completed his postdoctoral training in Biological Engineering at MIT. While initially trained as a physician-scientist, he solely focuses on research. His lab develops and combines human stem cell models of embryogenesis and organoids with synthetic biology. His approach is aimed at unraveling the intricacies of human development and organ formation. Moreover, it seeks to engineer technologies that can guide morphogenesis and advance regenerative therapies. Dr. Ebrahimkhani has received several research awards, including the Mayo Clinic Accelerated Regenerative Medicine Award, EASL Sheila Sherlock Fellowship Award, NSF Recode Program Award, NIH RO1s, and the Charles E Kaufman Foundation Initiative Award.
