Yasuhiro Takashima is the associated professor at Kyoto University, CiRA. Takashima, a graduate of Kobe University School of Medicine, transitioned from internal medicine practice to research. After he earned his Ph.D at Kobe University Graduate School and RIKEN Kobe, focusing on adipocytes and mesenchymal stem cells using mouse embryonic stem cells, he worked at the University of Cambridge Stem Cell Institute as a postdoctoral fellow, making significant contributions like the establishment of naive human pluripotent stem cells. Since 2015, Takashima and his Lab aims to regulate stem cells for the promotion of human health, with a particular focus on early human development and regenerative medicine using pluripotent stem cells and tissue stem cells at Kyoto University CiRA.
