Gabsang Lee is currently Professor in the Institute for Cell Engineering, Department of Neurology and Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He obtained his B.S., D.V.M., Ph.D. degrees in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the Seoul National University, South Korea. After his post-doctoral training at Sloan Kettering Institute, he joined Johns Hopkins as Assistant Professor 13 years ago. Dr. Lee is one of the first researchers who utilized human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) for disease modelling and drug discovery/validation. His laboratory is continuing this line of research focusing on multiple neurological diseases and muscular dystrophies. Recently, his group published human iPSC-based potential therapy developments for CMT1A, ALS, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease and other diseases.
