Heein Song M.D. is a PhD candidate in Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) under the supervision of Dr. Siebe Spijker and Prof. Ton Rabelink. She received her bachelor's degree in biological sciences at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2014, and obtained her medical degree at Seoul National University's College of Medicine in 2021. Her PhD research is focused on disease modelling of APOL1 mediated kidney disease and Alport Syndrome using kidney organoids.
